John Lennon: “Child of Nature”

John wrote this song in 1968 after being inspired by a lecture about “Mother Nature’s Son” given by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi while The Beatles were living in India.  Lennon never released this rare version of the tune, then entitled “Child of Nature” – but he later changed the lyrics to this melody and released the song as the famous track “Jealous Guy” on his 1971 album Imagine. The same nature lecture in India inspired Paul McCartney to write the song “Mother Nature’s Son” which was released on The White Album (see previous video).
